A few days ago, we both ran the track in a moderate storm. We were wet 5 minutes into our run and it rained all day. The highest temperature at the Harris Saddle was -1 degrees celsius with a little bit of snow falling. Welcome to summer 🙂
Second snow fall for the Routeburn this summer.
Last year, we had 15 snow falls for the three months of summer. It has warmed up, but still, top bunks are slightly warmer and if camping, have very good protection from the cold ground for a good nights sleep.
